I do something similar but I add a 'freestyle' minute at the end. It helps you find your own 'flow' so you don't look like a robot when you're moving on stage.

Spot on. The best posers look like they're just 'landing' in a pose naturally, not straining to get there. It’s all about those micro-adjustments.

Alright, I've got a plan now. AM: Vacuums. PM: Pose Rounds after the gym. I’ll start with 10s holds and try to build up. Thanks for the help, everyone. This community is much nicer than the powerlifting forums lol.

We’ve all been the 'new guy' shaking like a leaf in front of a mirror, Phil. Stick with it!

One last thing—get some posing trunks early. Practicing in gym shorts is fine for endurance, but you need to see how the fabric sits and how much of your leg is actually visible.

Ugh, the trunks. That’s when it gets real! But Dave is right, you need to see the 'flow' of the muscles from the glutes down.

And make sure the lighting is consistent. Don't always pose in the 'perfect' overhead light at the gym. Try some flat lighting so you learn to create shadows with your own muscle density.

That is top-tier advice. Bad lighting can ruin a great physique if you don't know how to angle your torso to catch the light.

Keep grinding, Phil. The first show is always a learning curve, but the discipline you have from powerlifting will carry you far.

Cheers TX! I'll report back in a few weeks when I can hold a pose without crying.
