Best Lunch Box for Keeping Meal Prep Cold at Work
I’ve heard good things about Decathlon. I wish they had more stores in the US! Our options are basically Walmart or overpriced specialty shops.
If you are really desperate, you can always put your lunch bag inside another insulated grocery bag. Double insulation!
That’s a bit overkill, Mike! But hey, if it keeps the salmon from going off, why not?
How about the ice packs—any specific brands that last the longest?
Cooler Shock. They come as a dry powder in a pouch, you add water and seal them. They get much colder than standard ice and last about 12-24 hours. A bit of a faff to set up but worth it.
+1 for Cooler Shock. They are almost too cold—I’ve had them freeze my lettuce before because I put it directly against the pack.
I just use a frozen bottle of water. It keeps the food cold and then I have ice-cold water to drink by lunchtime. Two birds, one stone.
Simple and effective. I like your style, Dave. I think we often over-engineer these things when a bit of common sense works best.
Great advice everyone. I’m going to go with the Arctic Zone bag and try the frozen water bottle trick first before buying fancy ice packs. Thanks for saving my meal prep!
Let us know how it goes! There is nothing worse than a warm tuna salad at 1pm.
Good luck with the new job! Glad the community could help you out.
