I have recently seen pre workout gummies for sale and they look like a much more fun way to get an energy boost than a traditional drink. I am in the US and I am always looking for convenient ways to get my supplements. I am wondering if they are actually as effective as the powdered versions.

Do they have enough of the key ingredients like caffeine and citrulline in such a small form? I am also concerned about the sugar content and if they will give me a crash. I think they would be great for a quick boost before a lunchtime workout when I do not have time to mix a shaker.

Has anyone here tried pre workout gummies? I would love to hear your reviews of different brands and if you think they are worth the money. Are they a real supplement or just a gimmick for people who do not like the taste of the drinks? Let me know what you think!

I have been thinking the same thing, GummyGains! The convenience of gummies is really appealing, especially when I am rushing out the door for an early morning session. I am curious if anyone has tried any specific brands that actually deliver a good kick without feeling like you are eating candy.

@A4tech, I agree completely! I am looking for something that tastes good but also has the right ingredients like creatine or beta-alanine, not just a sugar rush. Have you looked into the ingredients list for any brands yet?

@Jayne_Scott, I have been checking out the labels, and it is tough to find gummies with a full dose of creatine. Most seem to focus on caffeine and a bit of beta-alanine. It might be better to supplement creatine separately.

I tried a brand called "ChewBoost" last month and they were okay. The taste was a bit artificial, but they did give me a noticeable energy lift. The main drawback was the sugar content; it felt a bit high for a pre-workout.

@AnimalLifter, thanks for the heads up on "ChewBoost". I do not want to sacrifice my macros for a pre-workout, so high sugar is definitely a concern. Have you found any lower-sugar alternatives since then?

@Droz, I have not found a perfect low-sugar gummy yet. I have actually gone back to powders for now, but I am still hoping to find a good gummy option. Maybe a brand will release a sugar-free version soon!

@AnimalLifter, that is a shame about the low-sugar options. I feel the same way. The convenience is there, but the nutritional compromise is not ideal. Hopefully, the market catches up soon!

I am a big fan of the ON (Optimum Nutrition) gummies. They are not overly sweet and provide a decent amount of caffeine and BCAAs. I usually take two about 20 minutes before my workout and feel ready to go.

For me, the texture of gummies is key. Some feel too sticky or chewy. I found that brands using pectin instead of gelatin tend to have a better, less gummy-bear-like consistency. Anyone else notice this difference?

@philosopher, yes! I totally agree about the texture. Some are just too soft and dissolve too quickly, others are like chewing rubber. The best ones have a slight chew but are not difficult to eat.

I am based in the UK and have seen a few brands pop up here too. "Myprotein" does some pretty good pre-workout jellies, which are similar to gummies but a bit firmer. They are quite effective and have a good flavour range.

The appeal for me is definitely the ease of use. No mixing, no shaker bottle to clean. Just grab and go. For short, intense workouts, I think they are fantastic. For longer sessions, I might still prefer a full drink.

@Dragustav, that is exactly my point. For a quick gym session after work, they are perfect. But for a heavy leg day, I still rely on my full pre-workout drink for that extra boost and sustained energy.

@Alexandoy, yes, exactly! The convenience factor makes them great for those days when you just need a little push, but for serious training, the traditional drink still reigns supreme. It is good to have options though!

I am always cautious about the dosage in gummies. Sometimes you need to eat quite a few to get an effective dose of the active ingredients, which also means more sugar. It is essential to check the serving size carefully.

@AllOkJumpmaster, you are spot on about the dosage. It is easy to just pop a few, thinking it is enough, but then you check the label and realize you need like 5 or 6 for a proper serving. That quickly adds up in terms of cost and sugar.

@RockyBuilder, I totally agree! And then you look at the price per serving, and it is often higher than traditional powder. So you are paying more for less effective ingredients and more sugar. It is a trade-off for convenience.

Has anyone tried making their own pre-workout gummies? I have seen a few recipes online using unflavored gelatin, pre-workout powder, and a bit of sweetener. It seems like a fun DIY project and you control the ingredients.

I think the market for pre-workout gummies is still growing, so we will likely see more advanced formulations in the future. Better active ingredient profiles and lower sugar content are definitely on my wish list.

I find the fruit flavors in most gummies to be quite refreshing. It is a nice change from the sometimes overly strong or artificial taste of powdered pre-workouts. Definitely a win for palatability.

Has anyone noticed if the energy from gummies hits differently? Sometimes with powders, I get a very rapid onset, but with gummies, it feels a bit more gradual and smoother. Could be just my perception.

I am holding out for a gummy that includes a good electrolyte blend as well. That would make them truly ideal for quick hydration and energy before a workout, especially in hotter climates.
