I trust my gut more than my Garmin. If I wake up feeling like I got hit by a truck, it's an active recovery day regardless of what the watch says.

Wise words. The technology is helpful but it shouldn't override common sense.

Phil, just remember that the best schedule is the one you actually stick to. Start small. Even 10 minutes of walking counts as active recovery.

Totally agree. Consistency over intensity. I’ve seen guys go 'hard' on recovery and end up with tendonitis because they didn't know when to stop.

What about hydration? I feel like I need more water on my active recovery days than my lifting days just to 'flush' everything out.

I’m the same, Dave. I add a little sea salt and lemon to my water on rest days. Keeps the electrolytes balanced.

Good tip. Phil, let us know what you end up putting in your schedule. Would be curious to see the final draft!

Definitely. It’s always interesting to see how people balance their work/life/training.

Good luck with it! Your joints will thank you in ten years.
