One more vote for the pool—it's great for breathwork. Focusing on your breathing rhythm in the water is almost meditative and really helps the nervous system calm down after a high-intensity week.

Al, why not try both? Swim one week, cycle the next. See which one leaves you feeling more 'refreshed' for your main training days.

I agree with Dave. Variety is the spice of life. And it prevents overuse injuries from doing the same 'recovery' move over and over.
