Hey everyone! @YorkshireYeti, my favourite exercise is probably the lat pulldown – it just feels really good. @CaliCruncher, I'm doing a classic full-body routine, 3 times a week: squats, bench press (or push-ups), rows, overhead press, and deadlifts. Simple but effective. @MapleMoose, deadlifts are definitely challenging but I love the feeling of strength they give.

That's a solid beginner routine, Matt! Don't forget to focus on form over weight, especially with deadlifts. And make sure you're getting enough protein and sleep for those recovery gains!

Congrats on the gains, Matt! Following up on what GymGnome said, how are you managing your nutrition and recovery? Are you tracking macros or just trying to eat "clean"? Curious about beginner strategies there.

Good point, CanuckCurler. Recovery is crucial. For beginners, the best advice is often just to eat proper, wholesome meals and get plenty of sleep. Don't overcomplicate it too much in the first few months. Just be consistent with your gym sessions.

Thanks for the routine breakdown, Matt! And thanks for the diet tips, guys. Consistency is definitely the toughest part for me, balancing work and family. But seeing posts like Matt's really helps keep me motivated to keep hitting the gym, even if it's just for a quick 30-minute session.

Cheers, CaliCruncher! That's exactly why I wanted to share – hopefully it helps others. I'm just focusing on consistent progress and enjoying the journey. Thanks again everyone for all the advice and support. Looking forward to reporting back after month two!
